Tell Your Friends

You know what I always hoped this blog would be?  Some sort of dialogue between my family and yours. Not to mention a platform from which to broadcast my thoughts and observations to the world. Sadly, it seems like more of an empty room into which I occasionally ramble.

Let’s chat. I’m a dad, a photographer, a physical therapist, avid reader, Bill Murray fan, and knower of random facts.

Ask me a question. G’head, try me. Post something in the comment section below, tweet me something at @bigcalfguy, or e-mail me at Leave something on my wall at It’s not like I’m hiding. 😉

What do you want to talk about?
What do you want to know?
Here, lemme get you started:

Favorite book: It
Favorite color: Green
Side of the bed: Left
Hand dominance: Right
Can’t resist actor: Stallone
Irrational fear: Horseshoe crabs

I’d love to hear what’s on your mind. Even if it’s just your thoughts on my new haircut.

    Ok, my turn,
Favorite book, changes most every time I read something wonderful…keep reading. Right now.”The Book Thief” but still Adore the “Story of Edgar Sawtelle”
    Color, green
    Side of the bed, middle
    Hand dominance, right
    Can’t resist actor, Sly Stallone
Irrational fear, that when I die, I’ll be covered in insects… Real day, that something happens to one of my family and I won’t know what to do
Favorite finger, third finger, right hand, that’s where I wear my “power ring”
Best movie, still “Gone With the Wind”
Best memories, birth of my children
    Worst memories, death

    1. The insect thing is interesting. I’d never given that much thought. I figure donate what parts of me are still useful, burn the rest and toss the ashes. I always have such a hard time specifying “favorite” anythings, because for me things are so situational. I like to remember when/where I was when I experienced things, and that adds to the magic for me. Labeling anything as my favorite has always been hard. Thanks for playing!

Loving Beth’s non-irrational fears…..mine too are all very sound and rational. It always intrigues me to know what others consider worth fearing, rational or not so rational.

    1. She’s afraid of everything – stems from her constant worrying! LOL

I know you know me already, but I don’t want to be left out!
Favorite book: I don’t have just one but seven and I bet you can guess what they are.
Favorite color: The color of the ocean that you see on all of those tropical postcards.
Side of the bed: You answered that for me, obviously right.
Hand dominance: Right, but I do many things with my left.
    Can’t resist actor: Harrison Ford
Irrational fear: I don’t have any irrational fears…they are all completely understandable and rational.

There, now I feel part of it! Love you!

    1. Love you, sweetie!

    1. Thanks for the comment! I love the memories of watching that stupid “rainy day tape” the parents played for us all the time – the one with He-Man, Care Bears, and Rainbow Brite on it! That, and I loved swinging on the rope swing up behind your house. I don’t have any bad memories, but I still giggle when I remember your mom call them “sandridges.”
