What a week! It’s been good.
I had a few days off in a row, and actually used them to chill out. I had a half day at work on Wednesday, so we spent the rest of the day prepping the house for Thanksgiving visitors. We put up the Christmas tree, decorated the house, and even put up the new curtains we bought Tuesday night. The place looked great and we were able to relax and enjoy our family.
We only had 11 for dinner. That’s just 6 more than any given Thursday. It was almost like cheating. Little fuss, no muss.
I made Gramp’s Stuffing with Gabe. It was a hit. You can read all about it by clicking Traditions: Gramp’s Stuffing.
Friday was Beth’s 36th birthday, and we were more like sloths than people. We went out to breakfast, then rented a couple of movies from Redbox and lazed around on the couch for the remainder of the day. I puttered a bit, and Beth took three cat naps in her favorite chair.
A highlight of the day for me was shaving first thing in the morning. I know it was a day early, but it was my special birthday treat to Beth. Besides, it generated some great kissing! You can read/watch the Mo go bye-bye here.
Saturday meant back to work, then to Grammie and Grampie’s for Emma’s 5th birthday party. We got to see all the cousins we visit all-too rarely. Liv just loves being the little mother hen. Jake stayed at the party just long enough to grab some pepperoni, then he was late for the door. He has always been afraid of the Happy Birthday song, and had been telling Beth all day that there were going to be too many “customers singing” and he wanted to stay home. Thankfully, we had separate vehicles, so he could go home with Beth.
I got to hang out at the Scootic with my buddy Steve over a couple plates of wings.
The younger two had their first private lesson with Peter for gymnastics training. He seems impressed and the kids learned more in that hour than in weeks of regular instruction. It’s going to be money well spent.
Sunday was a short day for me at the nursing home, and I got to catch the last 3/4 of the Pats game. I’m not sure they deserved that win over Houston.
Liv’s video was a bit of a chore this week. She got a little grumpy, and declared that she didn’t want to do it anymore. I talked her into it, and you just might see my smiling face next week.
