Tragedy Strikes Jake

This is a tale that’s not easy to tell. It’s a tale of heartache, frustration, anger, and fear. It’s also a tale about awareness, love, and understanding. Do You Remember Where You Were? And How You Felt?

I know I’ve talked in the past about feeling old, but let’s face it; I’m only 35.  I was born in June of 1978. I wasn’t around when Kennedy was shot (Nov 22, 1963), or the day that Elvis died (Aug 16, 1977), and I was just sheltered enough to have found out about the …

Back to School

Back to school. Doesn’t in evoke great memories? The smell of new reams of paper, freshly sharpened pencils, brand new sneakers … I love this time of year. It’s such a build up for kids, parents, and teachers. For us there’s an added layer; but that just means a little more prep.

Raised Improperly … by Women!

University of New England, Physical Therapy Class of 2001

Some lucky fellas out there get to claim that they were raised by wolves; well not this guy. I was raised by women, most of them nurses.

Olivia Interview

Olivia Ann Whitehouse She’s my princess.  Daddy’s little girl.  She is the girliest of girls, but at the same time, she’s a pretty rockin’ tomboy.  Quick story:  we were fishing while on a camping trip a few years back.  Liv and I are at the picnic table gutting and cleaning a pile of white perch …
