Jake’s two week ban from posting on YouTube has ended! His first order of business? Post the video I made in iMovie of his Special Olympics adventures.
I never did get a response from the “appeal form” I submitted requesting some level of intervention. I wanted to keep the two weeks for lesson-learning purposes, but I did want the second strike removed. I’m afraid he’s right on the razor’s edge with making one more mistake and losing everything he’s worked so hard for.
He’s so happy to be back. He has agreed to come to Beth and I before posting anything at all, and he seems to have really learned a lesson about posting anything he did not create himself. I figure if we limit him to one or two postings per day, we should avoid being labeled spammers. Maybe he’ll learn the lesson that he should put out videos that people want to see – not just his own obsessions. Or, maybe the lesson is to do what you want despite the haters.
The funny thing is that over the course of his two week punishment, he’s gained 25 subscribers! I went back to check my last post: The End of Jake’s YouTube Channel? to check. He had 254 subs back then, and this morning when I took this screen grab, he was up to 279!
I guess people really do love bad boys. It’s my only explanation. He wasn’t this popular before he got banned. Needless to say, he’s beside himself that he’s nearing 300. I remember begging people to help him get over 100 subs. It seems like such a long time ago.
