Week In Review / Crazy Monday

Holy Cow!

Doesn’t time fly when you’re pulling your hair out!

I swear, sometimes I think I’m in control of my life, and other times I feel like I’m hanging on for dear life.   The last few days have been more like the latter.  Case in point, it’s 8:30 and I’m just getting this post up.

I didn’t get home from work yesterday until quite late, and the kids were just coming through the door at 6 p.m. minutes BEHIND me.  They had been at church from 9-noon, then took turns at basketball or cheer leading practice, prepped for their week at school, then took off again for Sunday School Christmas play practice.  We just didn’t have time to get our Week In Review video taped.

Fast forward to today:  more of the same.  By the time I got done my second job and a trip to the grocery store, I made it home right behind Beth, who’d been at parent/teacher conferences.  We threw together some dinner (Shake/Bake chicken with a garden salad), and Beth took off to lead her adult Christmas play practice.  The kids and I sort of got the kitchen put together enough to begin our next project.  The kids had decided that it would be nice of them to put together some party mix goodie bags for their friends at school.  Sort of a Share The Blessings kind of thing.

I had been given my assignment earlier in the day, and picked up some Cheez It Party Mix, colored Goldfish, M&Ms, dried cranberries, gum drops, and fruit snacks.  We figured if each kid had 15 or so pupils in their classes, plus teachers, we’d better make about 60 bags of treats!  What a mess!

Here’s just a sample of our production!

I’m still lucky enough to have the kind of crew that’s enthusiastic to work.  I also have the kind of crew where the more help I get, the longer it takes to get the job done.  I even had to run to the local grocery store for more party mix.  It’s hard to judge these things.  In the end, I’m super proud of my kids for asking to do something nice for their friends.

Here’s Liv’s weekly review.  It’s kind of thrown together, but we had to finish so she could go upstairs and work on her own Vlog project with her friend Cilla.  I’d send you a link, but I”m not having much luck uploading their video.  When I get it figured out, I’ll share.

In other news, Movember ends this week.  If there’s anyone out there who’s been waiting until the last minute to donate to this worthy cause, WE’RE THERE.
